Sharp Expects High LCD TV Demand because of the World Cup

Sharp, the world's largest manufacturer of LCD TVs, is increasing its production capacity for LCD panels, in anticipation of high demand for LCD TVs because of the World Cup. Global demand for LCD TVs is expected to reach 36 million units in 2006, up from 20 million units in 2005.
